On foot:

The gallery is located in the old city centre, on the right bank of the Ljubljanica River beneath Ljubljana Castle. The easiest way to reach it is on foot from Prešeren Square, crossing Plečnik's Triple Bridge. The exhibition venue is not accessible to persons with limited mobility.

City Art Gallery Ljubljana is one of the most prominent and established exhibition venues in both Ljubljana and Slovenia, dedicated to the presentation of contemporary visual art. The gallery is located in the heart of the old town and has developed into one of Ljubljana’s most significant cultural hubs over the course of its more than 60-year history. With its diverse programme of exhibitions and events, it offers an invaluable insight into current Slovenian art production, on a par with international standards. The gallery programme focuses on important contemporary issues and promotes awareness of values that are crucial for the future development of society. The focus of the 2025 programme is on the medium of printmaking, reflecting on its rich history, innovative approaches and social significance.
