The Museum of Modern Art (MG+) is Slovenia’s central museum institution for modern and contemporary art, established in 1947. It focuses primarily on 20th century art, with a particular emphasis on modernism, the historical avant-gardes, and key national artistic movements. Its permanent exhibition features works by eminent Slovenian artists such as Rihard Jakopič, Zoran Mušič, and Marij Pregelj, as well as presentations of the historical avant-garde and the OHO group. The museum also organizes temporary exhibitions, educational programs, and publishes catalogs and theoretical publications. It actively engages internationally and plays an important role in shaping the discourse on modern and contemporary art in Slovenia and beyond.
