Vesna Petrešin in collaboration with Prof Dr Eugen Petrešin
1971–2025. B. Ljubljana, Slovenia. Lives and works in London, UK, and Berlin, Germany.

Descending into the basement of Švicarija, we enter a secret lab and discover the work of a scientist and an artist, jointly developing devices that generate clean, free energy for the world. The secret lab has a blackboard with formulae and drawings, as well as autonomous energy machine prototypes. The work has been inspired by Nikola Tesla, who considered energy to be fluid, and believed it should be available freely for all humanity.
The prototypes are the work of Prof Dr Eugen Petrešin, a scientist in the field of engineering, who has dedicated his career to environmental science and technology, particularly urban hydraulics, water pollution control and fluid mechanics. An important question of his focus is the potential of generating clean energy through the process of cold fusion.
Vesna Petrešin, in turn, creates an immersive environment, a lab where the prototypes meet the thought process in the form of notes, calculations and blueprints, as well as audible traces of scientific work. The language of science often feels like an all-encompassing one, connecting minds across the globe in a shared pursuit to experiment and seek solutions for the betterment of humanity. Petrešin's practice is a reflection on the relationship between the (social) body and technology, driven by a keen interest in technological and progressive utopias.
